Belize is a nation-state on the eastern coast of Central America.Its abundance of terrestrial and marine species and its diversity of ecosystems give it a key place in the globally significant Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. Belize has a diverse society, composed of many cultures and languages that reflect its rich history. It is the only country in Central America without a coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Placencia is a long, narrow and sandy cape that offers a sloppy surrounding. It is a great place for scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and fly-fishing. During the full moons of May and June, you can go on a whale shark voyage at the Gladden Spit Reserve.

The island is a popular Belize attraction for backpackers and other tourists. You can engage yourself here in snorkelling, kite surfing, wind surfing, and fishing. After a day full of activities you can hang out at one of the street stalls and restaurants.

Snorkelling is the prime thibg that dras the tourists to this place. Hopkins is the best place to learn about the Garifuna culture of Belize. Hudut and cassava bread, budinga are some of the must try dishes of Hopkins. You’ll even find here plenty of fresh fruits and sea food.

This city is full of historical sites like Baron Bliss Lighthouse, Belize’s Supreme Court, The House of Culture and St. John’s Cathedral. You can also visit the Museum of Belize that is housed in an old prison buit in 1857. The district is abode to number of Wildlife Scantuaries and reserves.

Cayo is the most favoured place by those who are in search for some adventure and those who find history interesting. It has a number of waterfalls that the travelers can hike. Caracol, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech are some of the Mayan sites that can be reached easily from here.

Perched on the Vaca Plateau, 500 meters above sea level, Caracol is the largest Maya site in Belize. The largest pyramid in Caracol is Canaa, at 43 meters height.It is the tallest man-made structure in all of Belize.
