Timber Creek is a small roadside town, settled quite a far away from the city of Katherine and on the Victoria Highway. The town was discovered in by explorer Augustus Charles Gregory in the year 1856. This is an isolated small town on the banks of the Victoria River in the Northern Territory of Australia. The main attraction of this town is the Gregory's Tree Historical Reserve which is locate in Gregory's National Park and this is an old boab tree with inscriptions from which show the arrival and departure dates made by the great explorer Sir Augustus Charles Gregory. The tree also important for the Ngarinman Aboriginal people and another attraction is the Limestone Gorge which is located in limestone country, is a beautiful gorge in Gregory's National Park with craters and a landscape of limestone.
